04.20.18 What a Wonderful Friday!!

I really never thought this day would come this week ~ BELOVED FRIDAY!!!  It was an exceptionally long week at work.  I'm not retirement age but I really wish I could and this week would have been the week I picked to retire!  Oh well, I can wish!

The weather today started out really cold!  34 degrees in Mint Hill, NC in April (especially towards the end of April) is almost unheard of!!  When I left work for the day, it was so nice out and had warmed up to a lovely 69 degrees!  When I got home I remembered that John was going to a hockey game with our oldest daughter, Megan.  That left me the whole night almost alone!!  I made myself a seafood salad sandwich, watch some HGTV and then I took a really wonderful walk around the yard.  I couldn't believe in just a few days how many things changed in my garden!  The white iris are blooming beautifully in the front garden, the roses out front are bloom away and smelling wonderful and the hostas and ferns look like they have exploded from the warmth from the sun.  Atleast the warmth of the sun during the day because the nights have been pretty chilly.  Here are some lovelies I took photos of on my walk.

My lovely hosta. I think this is called Avocado.

Another hosta favorite.  I think this one is Guacamole.

Peony getting ready to bloom.

First time my peach/pink iris is going to bloom.

My lovely pink rose by the front porch rail.

I just love this double impatient.  I have this in a hanging basket on the back of the house.

I love rosebuds and the sun kissed this one.

Another beautiful rosebud.

Our tulip tree is dropping their flowers on the lawn now.

My white iris are blooming.  The fragrance is just intoxicating.

Because it is so cold at night I brought in my Gardenia Tree (standard).  Here are some photos I took tonight after dinner.  The house smells so lovely.  Reminds me of my grandmother.

I just might frame this photo!

I think gardenias have about 100 shades of cream in their coloring.

This is my fav photo of this beauty!
As you can see flowers make a huge part of my life!  I could have worse hobbies right LOL!!!  Well I think I am going to go upstairs and watch a "girlie" movie!  I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and just remember to always enjoy the outside and nature!!  Love you all!!

Update on Last Post and 04.11.18 Beautiful Spring Day

Thank you everyone for all your prayers on my last post!  It work and the lump I discovered was not a tumor or anything to do with my Lymphoma, it is a severely herniated muscle.  I was never so glad to read that on my health notes!!  I could have done a cartwheel (well not really with a herniated muscle LOL!!!).

Today was a beautiful Spring day!  I hated to be inside at work when all this Spring loveliness was going on outside.  I have attached some photos of the walk around my yard after I got out of work.

This azalea was planted last year in our backyard and it is doing really well!  So pretty!

This blue/green hosta is unfurling and it looks like ice cream cones or paper cones right now.

The is the first rose of the season so far.  Who would think there would be roses blooming in April!

Stilling loving my purple pansies in the wire basket on the front steps.

This is the tree peony that I bought in NJ when I lived there, we moved to Charlotte in 2004 and I brought this beautiful plant with me.  Every year it has done just wonderful and this year is no exception!  Love this color!

This is my other beautiful hosta in the backyard.  Love all the colors and puckers on the leaves!

These 2 azaleas were blooming along side the road on my way home from work.  This picture doesn't do them justice, but believe me the colors were glorious!  The bold red and the stark white just go so well together!

So as you can see by my photos, it was a really beautiful Spring day!  Temps were in the 70's and the sun was out shining.  Life is good!!  Take time to enjoy nature and your surroundings everyday!
